The Path to Your Destiny We believe that every member has a destiny. Our mission is to help equip and develop you to fulfill your purpose and destiny in life and in God’s Kingdom. The Path to Your Destiny is a step-by-step guide to your new journey in Christ and the membership process of our church. As you complete each step outlined through this model you will be in a better position to grow spiritually and become an active member of our team. Step 1 - Connect Get Connected
New Member's Orientation Step 2 - Grow Discovery Class The main purpose for Discovery Class is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. What is a disciple? Jesus said, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men" (Matt. 4:19; 9:9). When Jesus said, “Follow Me”, what did He mean? Obviously, He didn’t mean to physically follow Him. Rather, this is all about living our lives for Christ - following, learning, listening, observing, and reflecting the very nature of Christ through His Word. As we are discipled, we are called to disciple others so they can in turn make disciples. This is how we bring increase to the Kingdom of God. The word "disciple" literally means someone who pledges to be a “learner” and “doer” of the Word of God. Discipleship involves a life-long commitment to honor God, fellowship with Him daily, learn and obey His Word, and serve others. Therefore, to be a disciple is to follow the pattern of Jesus. He wants us to pursue after Him, to seek Him as something that is desired with all our heart, soul, and strength. He wants us to imitate him - that is - to be more like Him. Once we do so, we are agreeing to submit or surrender ourselves to His will, to pattern our lives after Him and to place our relationship with Him above our own will and desires. Following Jesus is a life-changing decision you must make each and every day of your life. Through Discovery Class, you will learn how to become a disciple of Christ. Our commitment is to help you accomplish the following:
Discovery Class takes place every Sunday morning at 8:00 AM to 8:50 AM. You must complete 10 lessons before going on to Step 3 - Train. Deliverance Encounter (Optional) - This program is designed for those who desire intense prayer, spiritual tools, and related resources to break free from bad habits, addictions, past hurts, or any traumatic events that have caused great emotional turmoil or a loss of faith and confidence in God. There is help for whatever situation you’re going through. More information is available upon request. Step 3 - Train You are one step closer to joining the Helps Ministry of New Kingdom Ministries International. Part of your Christian development and maturity involves your willingness to be a blessing. As a believer, serving God is often demonstrated by serving others. In order to become more like Christ, we must be willing to follow His example of service towards others. The Helps classes are designed to train each member to serve with excellence in various areas of ministry. These classes are taught with the heart of Pastor John Barton and the vision of NKMI in mind. Regardless of what capacity you serve in, it is important to serve with the heart of your church. These classes will help equip you for service within the Body of Christ and the world. 1st Class - "An Introduction to the Importance of Serving in God’s Kingdom." Step 4 - Serve Welcome to the team! You have now completed the new membership process and are ready to fulfill your destiny as an active member. It’s now time to serve God within your local church. Win souls, make disciples, be a blessing, and help bring increase to God’s house. Congratulations! |
